Ambrel Lake Branch Library window replacements done

The City of Wrenford has completed the necessary window replacement project at the Ambrel Lake Branch Library. The work, which took place over the past several weeks, was finished in August 2025 to ensure the space is ready for the busy fall season.

Crews from Roads & Winter Maintenance worked alongside building maintenance staff to remove the older, single-pane units and install new, energy-efficient glass. The upgrade improves the library's insulation, reduces heating and cooling costs, and provides a quieter, more comfortable environment for patrons and staff. Throughout the project, the library maintained its regular hours, and a temporary walkway was set up to keep the entrance accessible.

City crews also repaved the short stretch of sidewalk adjacent to the library entrance to repair minor surface damage caused by the work. If you notice any remaining issues with the pavement or landscaping near the facility, you can report a sidewalk issue through our online portal.

“This project was a straightforward but important upgrade for one of our most popular neighbourhood branches,” says Samuel Adeyemi, General Manager of Infrastructure and Planning. “Better windows mean lower energy bills and a cozier space for everyone who comes in to read, study, or attend a programme.”

The library is located inside the Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre at 1300 Ambrel Lake Road. It remains open during its regular hours.
