Applications for the summer intake of the Wrenford Housing Development Grant are open now through August 31. This funding helps non-profit housing providers and private developers build new affordable homes across Wrenford.
The grant offers up to $12,000 per affordable unit for eligible non-profit organizations, and up to $9,000 per unit for private developers. Project caps are set at $250,000 for non-profits and $180,000 for private developers. You can also earn a bonus of up to $40,000 if your project includes missing-middle housing types or certified green building features. Projects must include a minimum number of affordable units and follow a ten-year affordability covenant. Successful applicants will have up to four years to complete construction.
The City reviews applications within three to four weeks of the closing date. Funding is distributed in quarterly cycles until the budget is spent. The next intake period opens in September.
“When we fund affordable housing, we help stabilize neighbourhoods and keep Wrenford within reach for working families,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “Getting these projects built quickly is a top priority for our housing strategy.”
To apply, visit the Apply for affordable housing page and submit your proposal through the Wrenford ePermits portal. If you need help with the application, contact the Housing Programs team at [email protected] or reach out to Housing Programs Coordinator Colin Ashby.
