The Wrenford Public Library is handing out free water conservation toolkits at all three branches this week, giving residents practical tools to check their home for leaks and reduce outdoor water use.
The kits include a flow meter bag, a drip gauge, faucet aerators, and step-by-step guides. Library staff are also setting up a free home water audit sign-up desk. You can pick one up at the Main Branch on Mercer Street, the Northgate Branch, or the Ambrel Lake Branch.
To keep your yard healthy while using less water, mow your lawn a little higher to shade the soil, add mulch to keep moisture in the ground, and consider planting low-water native wildflowers. Avoid watering after rain or when rain is expected. Replacing portions of your lawn with drought-tolerant plants or rock gardens can also help your yard absorb rain naturally.
"Every drop counts when we share a river," said City Manager Robert Eng. "These simple changes help protect the Tamsin River and keep your water bill lower."
Residents can book a free home water audit by calling 519-555-0100 or emailing [email protected]. The audit team will visit your home to find leaks and suggest fixes.
