The Wildrye Splash Pad at Wildrye Park is open for the season after routine summer maintenance checks were completed. The City of Wrenford finished its annual inspection and cleaning of the spray features earlier this week, ensuring the area is safe and ready for families in the Wildrye neighbourhood and beyond.
Maintenance crews tested water pressure, checked drainage systems, and cleaned the surrounding play surfaces. Staff also reviewed the site for any wear and tear that might need attention before the peak summer months. The splash pad sits within Wildrye Park, just off Corvid Way, and is part of the city's growing network of neighbourhood play spaces.
Residents can use the splash pad free of charge during daylight hours. While the area is open for casual play, parents and guardians are asked to keep a close eye on children at all times. The City reminds families that the splash pad is a shared public space, and keeping the area clean helps everyone enjoy it. Please use the bins provided for trash and rinse off at the nearby washrooms before heading home.
"We want to make sure every splash pad in the city is safe, clean, and ready for families as soon as possible," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "Routine checks like these help us catch any small issues early and keep the water running smoothly all summer long."
In addition to the splash pad, Wildrye Park offers green space for casual sports and a new playground. The park is maintained through the Parks & Trails team. If you notice any maintenance needs, such as broken equipment or drainage issues, you can report them through the city's online service portal.
