Starting today, May 24, 2024, the Wildrye Splash Pad is officially open for the 2024 season. Located at Wildrye Park, 90 Wildrye Drive, the splash pad is a free, family-friendly amenity designed for children to cool off and play safely in the sun.
The splash pad will be open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. throughout the summer. The City's Parks & Trails team works closely with Water & Wastewater to ensure the water is continuously filtered, disinfected, and tested regularly, so you can relax knowing it meets all provincial health and safety standards. You can learn more about how we monitor and maintain water quality on our Water & Wastewater page.
"Summer is a great time to get outside and enjoy our neighbourhood parks," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We encourage families to take full advantage of this free amenity, but please remember to bring sunscreen, pack plenty of drinking water, and supervise children at all times."
The splash pad is a wonderful way for families to beat the heat without using excessive water. While the system is designed to recirculate water efficiently, we still encourage you to check out our Saving water in your home guide and follow our Outdoor water restrictions and guidelines during peak summer months. If you notice any unusual water pressure, discoloration, or maintenance issues at the pad, please report it to us online or call 311.
Wildrye is one of Wrenford's newest neighbourhoods, and this splash pad is a key feature of the community park that brings residents together. The area also includes playground equipment and picnic shelters, making it a perfect spot for a weekend outing. Please be mindful of local park by-laws and keep all pets on a leash near the splash pad to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
