Water main break closes Main Street westbound lane

Early Friday morning, Wrenford Water crews responded to a water main break on Main Street near the westbound lane. Crews remain on site to repair the damaged infrastructure. Traffic is being diverted around the work zone, and the westbound lane is closed until further notice.

Residents in the area may notice discoloured water in their taps. If this happens, run the cold water in your bathtub or a bucket until it runs clear. Do not use hot water until the discoloration stops, as hot water can draw sediment from the bottom of your water heater. If you need to know when the boil water advisory is lifted, check our Boil water advisory information page.

The section of Main Street is part of the City's ongoing water main replacement program. A new pipe for this section is scheduled to be installed in 2025.

"While we work to restore full service as quickly as possible, we appreciate your patience while our crews make these essential repairs," says Patrick Nguyen, Water Operations Manager.
