Wrenford residents will not see their garbage and recycling carts collected on December 25, 2024, for Christmas Day. All regular collection services will be suspended for the statutory holiday. Collections will resume on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
The City is moving the collection day forward by one day. If your regular collection day falls on December 25, please have your black cart, blue bin, and green bin at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 26. The City will collect all carts on the rescheduled day. This schedule applies to all neighbourhoods across Wrenford.
City offices, including Wrenford City Hall and the Service Wrenford counter, will be closed on December 25. The Downtown Transit Terminal will operate on a Sunday schedule. Emergency services, including Fire Rescue and Wrenford Police Service, will remain open 24 hours a day.
"We know the holidays are a busy time for families," said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "Moving the collection day ahead ensures our crews can clear the streets safely and efficiently, even with the shorter daylight hours in December. We appreciate residents following the new schedule so our trucks can complete their routes on time."
