Student transit pass prices adjusted for the 2024 academic year

The City of Wrenford is adjusting student transit pass prices for the 2024–2025 academic year. If you are a parent or guardian of a K–12 student attending the Wrenford District School Board or Wrenford Catholic District School Board, your new monthly unlimited ride pass is now set at $65.00. This adjustment reflects the ongoing costs of operating Wrenford Transit and ensures that you continue to receive reliable, frequent service throughout the school year.

Student fares are designed to make public transit accessible for young commuters. The new monthly pass replaces the previous rate and applies to all fixed routes operated by Wrenford Transit, including the 20-series school specials. If you already purchased a monthly pass before the effective date, you will not be charged again until your current pass expires or is used up.

You can purchase the new pass directly through the Wrenford Transit app or in person at the Downtown Transit Terminal. If you need to move schools or move out of the city mid-month, you can request a prorated refund for the unused weeks through the app or by visiting City Hall. The Transit team will process these requests within five business days.

“Keeping our students on the road safely and affordably is a top priority for us,” said Daniel Osei, Transit Manager. “These adjustments allow us to maintain our current service levels, upgrade our fleet, and keep the 20-series school specials running smoothly during peak hours.”

The City reminds all student riders that the pass is non-transferable and must be used only by the named student. Digital passes load instantly to the app, but you should always carry a valid student ID in case of a fare check. For a full list of routes, schedules, and fare options, visit the Transit section.
