Street light repairs underway at Centennial Gardens

The City of Wrenford is repairing and upgrading street lights at Centennial Gardens this week. Crews from the Roads & Winter Maintenance team are replacing older fixtures with modern LED lights at 5 Victoria Street. Work began on January 26 and is expected to finish by the end of the month. The project will improve safety and visibility for everyone visiting the gardens and the nearby cenotaph.

The upgrades are part of the City's Street Light LED Retrofit Programme. The new flat-lens fixtures provide brighter, more even light for visitors and reduce light pollution in the park. You may notice some temporary lane and sidewalk adjustments around the garden paths while crews work. Please follow posted signage and use alternate routes where needed. If you need to access the park during construction, staff will keep a clear and safe path open at all times.

"If you notice a damaged fixture or a light that is not working, please let us know so we can prioritize the repair," said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "Our crews are working through the winter schedule to ensure all public spaces are well-lit as days get longer. We appreciate your patience while we complete these important upgrades."
