Get your spring cleaning schedule ready. The City of Wrenford will sweep streets across all neighbourhoods from May 13 to May 17, 2024. During these five days, daytime crews will roll through the city Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Street sweeping helps keep our roads safe and our Tamsin River clean. When sweeping crews are in your area, daytime parking bans will be in effect. You must move your vehicle before the sweepers arrive. If you leave your car parked where a sweeper is working, you will receive a parking ticket. Check the collection schedule to find out exactly when your street is scheduled.
In addition to street sweeping, the City is offering a bulk item collection service for large household items. From May 13 to May 17, residents can place up to five large items at the curb for free pickup. These items include furniture, mattresses, and small appliances. Please make sure your items are out by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled day. You can also drop off bulky items at the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility or the Northgate Drop-off Depot during their regular hours.
Yard waste season is also starting. Starting May 1, you can put your paper yard-waste bags out for curbside pickup on your regular Green Bin collection day. The City collects yard waste biweekly from April through November. If you have large branches or brush, please bundle them tightly and place them next to your cart. Remember to follow the By-laws so your neighbours can enjoy their outdoor spaces.
"Spring cleaning is a great time to clear out your garage and tidy up your yard," says Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. "We want to make sure residents have clear dates and easy options for getting rid of large items, so our streets stay safe and our parks stay clean."
