Snow clearing operations resume on priority routes Monday

Snow clearing operations resume on Monday across Wrenford. City roads crews will begin clearing priority routes starting at 6:00 a.m., following a brief pause after the recent snowfall.

The City uses a priority system to keep traffic moving safely. Main roads and arterials are cleared first once snow reaches five centimetres. Local streets follow once the snow hits eight centimetres. Crews work through the night and early morning to beat the morning rush. “Our crews are ready to keep Wrenford moving safely,” said City Manager Robert Eng. “By planning ahead and using our updated snow clearing schedules, we can get main roads back to you as quickly as possible.”

While crews clear the streets, you need to handle your own sidewalks and driveways. The Winter Maintenance and Parking By-law requires property owners to clear snow within 24 hours of it stopping. If you park on a snow route, remember the overnight ban runs from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. between December 1 and March 31. Park on the opposite side of the street or apply for a snow route parking ban exemption if you have a verified mobility condition.
