The City of Wrenford is adjusting its regular garbage, recycling, and organics collection schedules for the week of Remembrance Day, November 11, 2024. Residents should plan ahead to avoid missed pickups.
On Tuesday, November 10, crews will be working an early evening shift to clear routes before the holiday. Please have your carts curbside by 4:00 p.m. for collection that same night.
On Wednesday, November 11, regular daytime collection will be moved to a nighttime schedule. Place your carts at the curb between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Residents on regular Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13 routes may experience delays as crews adjust to the holiday calendar.
A quick reminder on cart placement: always place your carts with the wheels facing your home and the lid opening facing the street. This helps our automated trucks collect your waste safely and quickly. Please do not place bags or other objects at the bottom of your compost cart to elevate them.
“We know Remembrance Day is about honouring our veterans and their families, so we are adjusting our routes to give our crews time to participate in local ceremonies,” said Ben Achterberg, Waste Programs Supervisor. “Thank you for your patience and for following these simple placement rules so we can keep things moving.”
