Starting this spring, the City of Wrenford is expanding hazardous waste collection hours at the Northgate Drop-off Depot to make it easier for residents to dispose of household chemicals, paints, and other special materials safely. Waste Programs Supervisor Ben Achterberg announced the updated schedule on May 20, 2024, at the depot on Northgate Boulevard. The depot is adjusting its operating schedule to handle increased demand during the spring cleaning season. Residents can now bring a wider range of items, including used motor oil, household cleaners, batteries, and pesticides, without needing to wait for a special collection day. Ben says the change is about giving people more options.

"We want to make sure you can drop off these materials when it works for your schedule, so we are stretching our collection hours to keep lines moving and reduce wait times," he says.
Before you head out, check the list of accepted materials on our Learn about park natural areas page. Items must be in their original containers or clearly labelled, and sealed securely. Please do not mix different types of waste together. If you are dropping off large quantities of construction debris or industrial waste, you will need to visit the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility on Concession 4 Road instead.
