The City of Wrenford Parks, Recreation & Culture department is pleased to announce that the newly rebuilt Northgate Aquatic Centre reopens to the public on Saturday, September 28, 2024. The facility was closed throughout 2024 to complete a full structural rebuild and upgrade the natatorium.

To keep families active during the closure, the City extended the operating season at the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool. As the weather cools, swimmers can return to the modern indoor facility at 910 Northgate Boulevard that serves the north side of the city.
“The community has shown great patience while we upgraded this vital piece of infrastructure,” said Fiona Gallagher, general manager of community services. “We are thrilled to welcome swimmers back to a safer, modern facility that will serve Wrenford for decades to come.”
With the doors opening, all scheduled programs return immediately. This includes the full public swim calendar, length swim lanes, aquafit classes, and the six-week swimming lessons series. The dive tank and waterslide are also open for use.
Residents can book sessions online or at the front desk. The centre operates Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
