The Northgate Aquatic Centre at 910 Northgate Boulevard will close its doors on Wednesday, November 20, to begin winterization and maintenance. The facility will remain closed through the colder months and is expected to reopen for the spring 2027 season.
The annual shutdown allows our maintenance and operations teams to drain the pools, inspect the filtration systems, treat the water, and prepare the building for the busy summer months ahead. During the closure, crews will also complete any deferred repairs and prepare the waterslide and dive tank for the next season.
If you have a booking or a registration scheduled after November 20, please check the Programs page for updated schedules or contact the front desk at 519-555-0121 to make changes. You can also visit the Check holiday service hours page to see how other City services operate through the winter.
“We appreciate everyone who has enjoyed the Northgate Aquatic Centre this season,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “Winterizing the facility takes careful planning, and we are already looking forward to welcoming swimmers and program participants back in the spring.”
While the aquatic centre is closed, other recreation facilities remain open. The Westbrook Community Arena and Eastfield Twin Arenas continue to offer public skating and league play. You can find a list of all open facilities on the Find a City facility page. For questions about programming, drop-in times, or facility rentals, please reach out using the contact details on the Contact page.
We will share more details about spring registration and opening dates closer to the season. In the meantime, keep an eye on the News page for updates on all City facilities.
