Starting today, December 23, 2024, the City of Wrenford is extending Lights at the Falls through New Year's Day. The popular holiday light display along Fallsview Road and in Centennial Gardens will now stay illuminated until January 1, 2025, as featured in the Arts & Heritage seasonal calendar.

In its first year, the display was scheduled to end earlier this month. Due to strong community support, City Council approved the extension. The lights will now run on a daily schedule from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., with special extended hours on weekends.
Visitors can also look forward to added holiday activities. The Downtown Wrenford BIA has partnered with the City to host a seasonal craft market in Centennial Gardens every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until December 30. Additionally, the Fallsview Arts Centre will open its doors for evening "Snowflake Nights" on Fridays, featuring live music and hot cocoa.
"We heard from many families who wanted more time to experience the magic of the season," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "Extending Lights at the Falls allows us to share the joy with more of our neighbours and supports local businesses during the busy holiday period. We encourage everyone to bundle up and come out to celebrate with us."
As temperatures drop, the City's Roads & Winter Maintenance crew will continue to clear paths and sidewalks around the display area. Residents are reminded that the overnight on-street parking ban is in effect from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily between December 1 and March 31. Please check the parking regulations before heading out.
The display is free to view and accessible for all visitors. Wrenford Transit routes 1 and 4 stop near Centennial Gardens, and the Downtown Transit Terminal is a short walk away.
