Kingfisher Outdoor Pool winterization begins in March

The City of Wrenford is beginning the winterization process at Kingfisher Outdoor Pool (15 Kingfisher Court, Kingfisher) this week. Roads & Winter Maintenance crews will be clearing snow from the parking lot and surrounding pathways, while Recreation staff drain and cover the splash pad and outdoor pool basin. The facility will remain closed for the season until it reopens in late June.

As we transition into spring and summer, residents should note that the overnight on-street parking ban ends at 6:00 a.m. on March 31. Once the ban lifts, regular daytime parking rules apply, but please give maintenance crews plenty of room as they finish their work in the neighbourhood. If you need to access your driveway or sidewalk during the final snow-clearing days, remember that Snow route parking bans are enforced to keep plows moving safely. Residents with verified mobility conditions can apply for an exemption through the Snow Route Parking Ban Exemption Program.

While the splash pad is offline, the Kingfisher neighbourhood remains a great place to walk. The Tamsin River Trail System connects directly to Kingfisher Court, and the nearby Kingfisher Outdoor Pool area will be fully accessible for strollers and wheelchairs once the snow melts. "Spring snowmelt and the shift to outdoor pool preparation mean extra activity on Kingfisher Court and the nearby trails," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "We appreciate residents patience as crews drain the pool and clear the remaining snow so the site is ready for our summer splash pad season."

Residents with questions about the pool's opening dates, splash pad hours, or summer program registration should visit the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool page or call 519-555-0125.
