The Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and splash pad will open for the summer season in late June, with daily hours and program details available online. Located at 15 Kingfisher Court in the Kingfisher neighbourhood, the aquatic centre is one of the City’s main summer spots for swimming and water play.
The splash pad opens on Saturday, June 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily, weather permitting. The main pool follows on Saturday, June 29. You can expect the same daily hours unless heavy rain or strong winds close the facility. Staff will test the water quality every morning to keep it clean and safe.
The splash pad features a 7,000-square-foot play area with three dump buckets, spray arches, and interactive ground jets. The main pool includes a 25-metre lap lane, a 3-metre diving board, and a shallow play area for younger children. Deck chairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Outdoor pools have something for everyone,” says Caroline Dubé, Recreation Programs Coordinator. “We offer swim lessons for all ages, leisure swims, and dedicated times for preschoolers and teens. It is a great way to beat the heat and meet neighbours.”
Before you head out, check the drop-in schedule and book your swim lessons or family swim tickets. You can find all the dates, fees, and program guides on the recreation programs page. If you need a Leisure Pass for unlimited drop-in access, you can pick one up at the pool front desk or any recreation facility.
Watch for weather updates and any last-minute schedule changes on the Service Alerts page or through the City’s official social media channels. We look forward to seeing you in the water this summer.
