Kingfisher Outdoor Pool parking lot closes for resurfacing

The City of Wrenford will close the parking lot at Kingfisher Outdoor Pool (15 Kingfisher Court) for resurfacing work from Monday, July 8 to Friday, July 12, 2024. The lot will reopen to the public on Monday, July 15.

During this time, vehicles will not be allowed in the lot. Pedestrians can still access the seasonal outdoor pool and splash pad through the main entrance on Kingfisher Court. Crews from Roads & Winter Maintenance will be on-site to grade the area and lay fresh asphalt. Heavy machinery will be moving in and out of the site, so please stay clear of the work zone.

Motorists should plan ahead. Please use on-street parking on Kingfisher Court and the surrounding residential streets, or park at the nearby Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre and walk to the pool. Wrenford Transit routes 7 and 12 stop nearby. Remember that on-street parking is free on weekends and after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. If you need a visitor parking permit for your home zone, you can apply online before your visit.

"We know that changes to parking can be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience as we improve the facility for the rest of the summer season," said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "The new surface will last longer and provide a safer, more stable area for drivers and pedestrians. We will do our best to keep traffic moving smoothly during the work hours."
