Kingfisher Outdoor Pool delayed opening to June 15 due to weather

The City of Wrenford has delayed the opening of the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool until June 15 because of recent cold weather and the need for additional facility preparations. The splash pad will also open on that same day.

The pool was originally scheduled to open in early June, but the unusually cool temperatures have made it difficult to reach the required water and air temperatures for safe swimming. Staff are also taking extra time to complete routine maintenance, water quality testing, and safety inspections ahead of the season. We want to make sure every visitor has a safe and enjoyable experience.

“We want to make sure the pool is completely ready and safe for everyone before we open the gates,” says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “We appreciate your patience as we work through the final preparations.”

Residents who planned to swim or use the splash pad in early June should adjust their summer schedules. Program registration for the spring and summer season is open, and you can still book drop-in swim times and lessons once the pool is operational. If you have already registered for programs that start before June 15, your registration will be moved to the next available session.
