Kingfisher Outdoor Pool closed due to storm damage to pumping system

The Kingfisher Outdoor Pool at 15 Kingfisher Court is closed for repairs after a storm damaged its pumping system last week. City maintenance crews are working to replace the equipment so the splash pad and main pool can reopen for the summer.

When strong winds and heavy rain swept through Wrenford, water and debris entered the pool's mechanical room. The pumps that keep the water circulating and clean were damaged and need to be replaced. Our team is working with contractors to order the parts and complete the repairs as quickly as possible. We expect to have the pool ready for the summer season once the weather stays warm and dry for a few days. We will post updates on the Service Alerts page and through the Wrenford 311 app.

While outdoor pools are closed, Wrenford residents can still cool off at other city facilities. The Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre and the Northgate Aquatic Centre run lap swim and public swim sessions all year. You can check schedules and book your spot on the Aquatics page.

"We are doing everything we can to replace the pumps quickly so the pool can open as soon as the summer season begins," said Fiona Gallagher, general manager of community services.

If you are still cleaning up after the storm, our crews are out on the roads and in the neighbourhoods clearing fallen branches and checking catch basins. You can report a missed garbage collection or a tree issue on the curb through the Wrenford 311 app. For more tips on storm cleanup and how to prepare for the next one, visit our extreme weather and storm preparedness guide.
