The City of Wrenford is extending its free two-hour parking promotion in the downtown core through August 31. This change gives shoppers, diners, and visitors more time to explore the area without worrying about the clock ticking on their parking sessions.
The promotion applies to Zone A (downtown core) and Zone B (Fallsview and Market Square), where standard hourly rates usually run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Under the extended program, you can park for free for up to two hours during those times. You still need to pay for your session in the Wrenford Park app, at a Pay & Go kiosk, or using a Quick-Park sign, but the fee will be waived for the first two hours.
This extension supports local businesses and helps keep the downtown lively through the busy summer months. It also encourages people to walk, cycle, or take Wrenford Transit to their destinations, since they know they have a safe and easy place to leave their car while they run errands or meet friends.
"Keeping our core accessible and affordable for everyone is a top priority," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "By extending this program, we are showing our support for downtown merchants and making it easier for residents and visitors to spend time in the heart of Wrenford this summer."
Parking enforcement officers will be patrolling the core to ensure compliance. Please remember that the free two-hour limit still applies, and vehicles must be moved once the time is up. Overnight on-street parking is not permitted in the core at any time, and the overnight parking ban remains in effect from December 1 to March 31.
