We are inviting all Wrenford residents to enjoy a free public skate at Westbrook Community Arena on Boxing Day, Thursday, December 26. The rink will be open from 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. for anyone who wants to glide on the ice with family and friends.
The arena is located at 40 Westbrook Drive, just off Northgate Boulevard. There is plenty of free parking in the lot. Skates are not required. If you need a pair, you can rent them at the front desk or bring your own. Blades must be sharp and safe for ice use.
This is a great chance to get some winter exercise and enjoy the season. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Parents and caregivers must supervise children at all times.
“We want to make sure families have a fun, affordable way to celebrate the holidays together,” said Fiona Gallagher, general manager of community services. “Free skating is one of our favourite ways to bring the community out onto the ice.”
Please check the public skating sessions and schedules for details on ice resurfacing, which may cause a short delay between sessions. If you need to book ice time for a league or tournament after the holiday, visit the Programs page or contact the arena directly at 519-555-0122. For a full list of facility hours and any seasonal changes, see the Holiday hours for recreation page.
We hope to see you on the ice. Dress warmly, and enjoy Boxing Day in Wrenford.
