City launches winter volunteer drive for lights at the falls

The City of Wrenford is recruiting volunteers for Lights at the Falls, the annual winter festival that transforms Fallsview from late November through December. Registration opens today, November 5, and runs through the end of the month.

Lights at the Falls draws thousands of visitors to the Tamsin River corridor every winter. The festival features holiday light displays, live music, and warming stations. To keep the event running smoothly, the City needs a steady team of helpers to staff information booths, guide foot traffic, and assist with set-up and clean-up. Volunteers work in shifts of three to four hours. All volunteers receive a free hot meal after their shift and a commemorative winter scarf. You must be at least 16 years old to participate. The City provides all necessary training and safety briefings before your first shift.

You can sign up online through the volunteer portal or visit the service counter at Wrenford City Hall, 100 Mercer Street, during business hours. If you need high-visibility vests or winter gear, just let the coordinator know when you register. For questions, email [email protected] or call 519-555-0100.

"We rely on the energy and generosity of our neighbours to make Lights at the Falls a community tradition," said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "Whether you have an hour or an afternoon, you will be part of something that brings warmth to our city this winter."
