A precautionary Boil Water Advisory for residents on Mercer Street is lifted as of June 14, 2024. City crews finished repairs to the watermain that broke earlier this week, and normal water pressure has been restored to the area.
The advisory was issued on June 12 after the break temporarily disrupted service. Water quality tests required by Tamsin Valley Public Health have been completed and confirm that the drinking water meets all provincial safety standards. The precautionary Boil Water Advisory is now lifted and normal water use may resume.
You can now use your tap water for drinking, cooking, brushing your teeth, and preparing baby formula without boiling it first. If you have already boiled water, you can pour it down the drain or use it to water your plants. If you have not boiled any water yet, you can start using it straight from the tap.
"We know boil notices disrupt daily life, and we appreciate your patience while we fixed the main," says Patrick Nguyen, Water Operations Manager. "Testing confirms the water is safe, so you can relax your water routine again."
