We are excited to share the 2024 lineup for the Benchlands Folk Festival. This popular summer event returns to Benchlands Lookout Park for the second weekend of August, featuring local and regional folk acts, traditional storytelling, and activities for the whole family.
"The Benchlands Folk Festival has become a cornerstone of our summer calendar, bringing neighbours together to celebrate our region's musical heritage," said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. "We are thrilled to welcome these talented artists to the falls this August, and we encourage all residents to come out and support local culture."
The weekend will showcase a mix of well-known headliners and rising local talent. Headlining the Saturday night main stage will be a popular five-piece group from the Tamsin Valley, known for their blend of traditional Irish jigs and original Ontario folk tunes. Sunday's lineup features a family-run acoustic ensemble that will perform throughout the afternoon.
In addition to the music, the festival will include a craft market featuring Wrenford artisans, a children's storytelling corner at Riverside Flats Park, and a traditional jam session open to all skill levels at the Fallsview Arts Centre.
Our Arts & Heritage team works year-round to support community events and local artists. You can view the current arts and culture plan to learn more about how the city funds and promotes creative programming. If you want to apply for a community arts funding grant to host your own event, the application window opens each spring.

The festival is free for you to attend. Food trucks and local vendors will be available on-site. Wrenford Transit routes 4 and 7 will run extra service to the park so you can get there easily.
