City crews have finished the repair work on the splash pad at Ambrel Lake Park this week. The installation of a new spray deck and plumbing upgrades is complete.
The upgrades were part of a broader effort to modernize city recreation facilities and reduce water waste. The new system uses a closed-loop design that recirculates water more efficiently than the previous setup. It also includes updated drainage to prevent pooling and improve safety for families. These improvements support the City's commitment to sustainable infrastructure and efficient resource use.
"The City is committed to keeping our parks safe and welcoming for everyone," said Robert Eng, City Manager. "These upgrades will ensure the splash pad runs smoothly all season long while using less water."
Residents can expect the splash pad to follow its standard operating hours. It will open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from late June to Labour Day, weather permitting. The park itself is located at 1350 Ambrel Lake Road, Wrenford, ON N4Q 5D5. There is a boardwalk, playground, and bookable picnic shelter nearby.
During the repair work, a portion of the park was temporarily closed for safety. All areas are now open, and the City has cleared the site of all construction materials. If you notice any ongoing maintenance needs or have feedback about the new system, please reach out to the Parks & Trails team through the City's main contact line or online service request portal.
