Wildrye Splash Pad closed for winter maintenance starting November 20

The Wildrye Splash Pad at Wildrye Park is closed for winter maintenance starting November 20. City crews have shut down the spray deck and drained all plumbing lines to prevent damage from freezing temperatures. Without this winter shutdown, the equipment could suffer costly repairs or fail to operate when the season returns.

The splash pad will remain closed through the winter months. City staff will perform routine inspections of the site to check for wear and tear on the spray nozzles, fencing, and surrounding pavement. The splash pad is scheduled to reopen in late June 2024, weather permitting. When it opens, daily operating hours will run from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. throughout the summer season.

Residents are reminded to keep dogs off the splash pad surface while it is closed. The surrounding playground and the nearby trail network remain open for walking and running. If you notice any damage to the spray deck, lighting, or fencing, please report a park maintenance issue through the City's online portal or call 311. Our Parks & Trails team reviews these reports daily and will send a crew out as soon as possible.

"We close splash pads early to protect the equipment and ensure a safe, fun experience for families when summer returns," said Maya Chen-Watson, Parks Planner. "We appreciate your patience while our crews complete these necessary repairs and keep our parks in great shape for the next season."
