Snow clearing efforts are continuing across Wrenford following the latest round of snowfall. Our Roads & Winter Maintenance crews are focused on clearing priority routes to keep residents moving safely. Main roads are cleared once snow reaches five centimetres, while residential streets are cleared at eight centimetres.
With rain expected in the coming days, conditions will shift quickly. Crews are working around the clock to clear the city's road network. We thank the public for their understanding and patience as we work through the storm.
Residents can help by keeping vehicles off the streets whenever possible. This allows plows to clear main roads and bus routes more quickly. If you must park on the street, please follow the overnight parking ban hours from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. between December 1 and March 31. Clearing catch basins and storm drains around your property is also important to prevent ice buildup and localized flooding.
For your safety, please keep children away from snowbanks near roads and sidewalks where plows and salt trucks are operating. We also ask that you shovel your sidewalks and driveways promptly after a storm ends. Property owners are responsible for keeping their frontages clear under the Winter Maintenance and Parking By-law 2020-097.
"Our crews are working around the clock to keep our streets safe and accessible," said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "We appreciate the public's patience as we clear priority routes and ask everyone to park off-street where possible."
