The City of Wrenford Parks and Recreation team is updating the ice resurfacing schedule at Eastfield Twin Arenas for December. The new schedule takes effect on Monday, December 1, and is designed to keep the ice in better condition during the busy holiday season.
Resurfacing will now happen earlier in the morning and between afternoon program blocks. This change gives crews more time to prepare the ice before public skating and winter lessons begin. It also reduces the amount of time the ice is closed during peak evening hours.
"We want to make sure every skater has a smooth surface to enjoy this winter," says Fiona Gallagher, general manager of Community Services. "Adjusting our schedule now means fewer interruptions during the busiest times of the month and helps us keep the ice safe and fast for everyone."
Residents who plan to take recreation programs at the arena should note that registration for the winter season opens on Monday, December 4. You can sign up online or at the front desk during business hours. If you are taking a class, please arrive ten minutes early to check in and get your equipment fitted.
