City extends snow removal services through holiday week

The City of Wrenford is extending its snow removal and road maintenance services through the holiday week. Crews from Roads & Winter Maintenance will continue clearing streets and applying de-icing materials daily until the new year.

Main roads will be plowed when snow reaches five centimetres, and residential streets will be cleared at eight centimetres. This follows the standard schedule outlined in the Snow and ice bylaws. During the holiday period, the overnight on-street parking ban is currently in effect from December 1 to March 31, running from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Please remove your vehicles from the roads to help crews work safely and efficiently.

"Keeping our roads clear during the busy holiday season is a top priority for our winter operations team," said James Whitford, Roads Superintendent. "We have stocked up on de-icing materials and extended shifts so that residents can travel safely to visit family and enjoy community events."

Drivers are reminded to slow down, stay at least three car lengths behind plows, and avoid using the downtown transit terminal routes if possible. If you notice a road that needs clearing, report it to the Civic Operations Centre at 519-555-0112 or through the Wrenford 311 service.

The holiday week also offers a quiet moment to prepare for future civic duties. Residents can verify their voting information and learn about upcoming municipal elections by visiting the Elections page. Making sure your address is up to date now will help ensure a smooth voting process later in the year. You can also check your voter registration status and find your assigned polling place on the Elections office page.
