Ready to grow your own vegetables or flowers this year? The City is holding the annual Spring Community Garden Plot Auction on April 10, 2027, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hollis Creek Picnic Shelter. This is your chance to reserve a garden spot for the upcoming season.
Each plot costs $35.00. You can register ahead of time online through our recreation booking system, or pay at the shelter on the day of the auction. Registration is required, so sign up early to secure your preferred location. Plots are assigned by random draw if demand is high.
What to bring: a pencil for marking your plot number, cash or a credit card for payment, and a positive attitude! Light refreshments will be provided. The shelter is fully accessible, and free parking is available on-site.
Once you have a plot, you will receive a guide with planting tips and community rules. Need more ideas before you plant? Check out our spring planting workshop for hands-on advice from local gardeners. Whether you are growing tomatoes, herbs, or a mix of both, this is a great way to connect with neighbours and enjoy the outdoors.
We look forward to seeing you there. For questions about the auction or garden plots, contact the Recreation & Culture team at 519-555-0100.
