Join us for a special morning dedicated to young people and their families. The Remembrance Day Youth Ceremony and Poppies will take place at Southview Park on November 11, 2026. This event is designed to help school-aged children understand the meaning behind Remembrance Day in a welcoming and age-appropriate setting.
Guests will take part in a short youth-led reading and reflection. Local students will also lead a moment of silence to honour those who served. Families can make paper poppies to take home or wear on the day. The ceremony will close with a brief look at the upcoming city-wide Remembrance Day Service at Centennial Gardens, so you know what to expect for the main Remembrance Day Service 2026.
The program runs from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There is no registration required and admission is free. Please arrive a few minutes early to find a good spot on the park benches. Dress warmly for the weather, as November in Wrenford can be chilly. If you need extra seating, bring a small folding chair or blanket.
This event is part of our Youth programming to keep community traditions alive for the next generation. For more information about youth programs, visit our Youth page. If you have accessibility needs or mobility concerns, the park is flat and easy to navigate. Contact us at 519-555-0100 if you require accommodations.
