A winter light festival along a riverbank at night: trees wrapped in warm lights, illuminated arches over a path, the falls lit in soft colour, families walking

Get ready to celebrate the holiday season with us! Lights at the Falls opening night 2026 is our annual community gathering to kick off the festive display along Fallsview Road. Whether you are a long-time resident or new to Wrenford, this free drop-in event is for everyone in the family.

The evening starts at 6:00 p.m. on November 27, 2026, and runs until 8:00 p.m. We will be gathering at the Fallsview Arts Centre. You will see new light installations, enjoy local carolers, and take in the view of the river as the city lights up. The Fallsview Arts Centre provides a warm indoor space with a 420-seat theatre, so you can take a break from the chill if needed.

Since Wrenford winters get cold, please dress warmly in layers. Bring a thermos of hot cocoa or tea, and consider bringing a small flashlight for the walk back to your car. The venue is fully accessible, with step-free entrances and washrooms available on-site. Strollers and wheelchairs can easily navigate the main paths.

You do not need to register to attend. Just show up when you are ready. If you want to volunteer for the rest of the season or learn how the display is powered, visit our Lights at the Falls 2026 page for more details and volunteer sign-ups.

We look forward to seeing you under the lights!
