Get your garden plots ready for the season by learning how to test your soil. This free workshop is designed for adults and youth who want to grow healthy vegetables, flowers, and herbs in Wrenford. We will show you how to take soil samples, what the results mean, and how to adjust your soil for the best harvest.
Bring your own garden gloves and a clean bucket or bag if you would like to collect a sample from your yard. Our Parks & Trails team will handle the testing on site and share the results with you before you leave. If you do not have soil to test, we will provide sample jars so you can still follow along and learn the steps for next season.
Registration is required because space is limited. Sign up online through the Wrenford Recreation portal or call 519-555-0100 to reserve your spot. Please register by April 3, 2027. You can bring a friend or a neighbour, but each registration covers one person.
The event takes place at Eastfield Park. The gathering area is paved and fully accessible for wheelchairs and walkers. Accessible washrooms are located nearby in the Eastfield Community Centre. If you need an accommodation or have a question, email Recreation & Culture at [email protected].
After the workshop, stay for a casual chat with fellow gardeners. We will also hand out a quick guide on community garden spring planning so you can mark your calendar for the next session. We hope to see you there as we get ready for spring planting.
