Report a community standards issue

Find out how to report noise, property maintenance, and other neighbourhood concerns in Wrenford.

Keep our neighbourhoods safe, quiet, and clean

Wrenford's neighbourhoods work best when we look out for each other. The City's by-laws set clear rules to keep our streets safe and our properties well-kept. If you notice a problem in your area, you can report it through the channels below.

How to report an issue

  • Call 311 (inside city limits) or 519-555-0100 (outside the city) to speak with an operator.
  • Use the online form on the City of Wrenford website.
  • Email [email protected] with details, photos, or addresses.
  • Call the Wrenford Police Service non-emergency line if the situation is unsafe, involves a criminal act, or requires immediate attention.

What we handle

Our By-law Enforcement team and the Police Service cover a wide range of neighbourhood concerns. Common reports include:

Noise complaints

Loud music, barking dogs, construction equipment, and vehicle exhaust noise can disturb the peace. We enforce the Noise By-law 2016-122 and other related regulations. If you hear a loud party or a vehicle with a modified exhaust system, please note the address and time so we can investigate.

Property maintenance and yard care

The Property Standards By-law 2019-112 and Clean Yards By-law 2019-113 set expectations for how properties are kept. We can look into reports of overgrown weeds and grass, accumulated garbage, derelict vehicles, or construction debris left on a lot.

Graffiti and vandalism

The Graffiti and Vandalism By-law 2026-051 makes it an offence to apply graffiti to public or private property. Property owners are also responsible for removing it within a reasonable time. Report it so we can track repeat offenders and coordinate with property owners.

Sidewalk and public space upkeep

Residents are responsible for clearing snow and ice from the sidewalks next to their property within 48 hours of a storm. We also handle reports of littering, public urination, or unsafe conditions in parks and trails.

How the process works

  1. Intake: A by-law officer or 311 operator records your report. You do not need to provide your name, but including your contact information helps us update you.
  2. Investigation: An officer visits the location to check for violations. They may speak with neighbours or the property owner.
  3. Resolution: We usually start with a warning or a compliance order, giving the person a set time to fix the issue. If the problem continues, we issue a ticket with a fine. Fines are set by Council in the annual Fees and Charges By-law.
  4. Escalation: Serious or repeated violations may be taken to Provincial Offences Court. Criminal mischief or threats of violence are handled directly by the Wrenford Police Service.

Try talking to your neighbour first

Many issues can be solved with a quick conversation. Before you call, consider:

  • Knocking on the door or leaving a polite note.
  • Explaining how the noise or mess affects you.
  • Asking if they will fix it by a certain time.

Most people do not realise they are causing a problem. A friendly chat often prevents a formal complaint. If you feel unsafe or the issue is an emergency, call the Wrenford Police Service non-emergency line or 911.
