Report a community safety concern

Tell us about neighbourhood issues like noise, property standards, or suspicious activity so we can help keep Wrenford safe.

What you can report

Keeping our neighbourhoods safe is a shared responsibility. Whether you notice a noise issue, a property that needs attention, or something that looks suspicious, reporting it helps us respond quickly and keep our community secure. You can report the following:

  • Noise complaints, including loud parties, construction, and barking dogs
  • Property standards issues, such as overgrown lots, illegal dumping, or abandoned vehicles
  • Suspicious activity or safety hazards in public spaces
  • Traffic and parking concerns on residential streets
  • Violations of city by-laws

How to report a concern

Non-emergency situations: Call 311 if you are inside city limits, or dial 519-555-0100. You can also send an email to [email protected]. Our team logs your report and routes it to the right department.

Emergencies: If someone is in immediate danger or a crime is happening right now, call 911.

Anonymous tips: If you prefer not to share your name, use our secure tip line at 519-555-0140. All tips are reviewed by staff, and your identity stays confidential.

Who handles your report

Not every concern falls to the same team. Here is how we sort them:

  • By-law Enforcement officers handle noise, property standards, parking, and general by-law violations.
  • The Wrenford Police Service handles crimes, suspicious activity, and threats to public safety. The Police Service is an independent arm's-length body, so reports involving policing are sent directly to their headquarters.
  • Fire Rescue responds to fire hazards, unsafe structures, and medical emergencies.
  • Transit and Parks staff manage issues that happen on city trails, in parks, or around transit stops.

What happens next

Once you submit a report, our team reviews it and assigns it to the appropriate department. Officers or staff will investigate the issue and take action as needed. You may be contacted for follow-up details. We protect your personal information under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) and only share it when required by law.

For more information on neighbourhood initiatives and local safety programs, visit our Neighbourhoods page. You can also reach out to the By-law Enforcement team directly or find contact details at Contact. If your report involves policing, the Wrenford Police Service handles the investigation at Wrenford Police Service Headquarters.

Tips for a clear report

To help us respond faster, please include the exact location, a description of what you saw or heard, and the time the issue occurred. If it is safe to do so, you can also share a photo or video. Avoid confronting anyone directly, and stay on the phone or online form until our operator tells you it is okay to hang up.
