What the Wrenford Housing Soft Cost Grant covers
The Wrenford Housing Soft Cost Grant helps non-profit housing developers cover pre-construction expenses. We know that planning a new affordable housing project takes time, careful study, and upfront capital. This grant is designed to ease the financial burden of early project stages so you can focus on building homes for our community.
Who can apply
You must be a registered non-profit housing developer or community organisation operating in Wrenford. Your project must add new affordable rental or ownership housing units to the City's inventory. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly.
Grant amount and eligible costs
The grant covers up to 15 per cent of your eligible soft costs, with a maximum award of $20,000.00 per project. Eligible expenses include:
- Consultant fees for professional engineering, architectural, or accounting services
- Preparation of drawings, designs, and site surveys
- Environmental site assessments and geotechnical reports
- Energy efficiency and accessibility modelling studies
- Project viability studies
- Building permit fees
Please review the Soft Cost Grant Policy for full eligibility requirements and exclusions.
How to apply
You can submit your application through the City's online portal or request a paper form by email. When you apply, please include a detailed project scope, a preliminary budget showing soft cost breakdowns, and a letter of support from the property owner or site holder.
The City reviews applications every quarter. You will receive a written decision within eight business days of the quarterly review date. If your application is approved, you will be asked to sign a funding agreement before any disbursements are made.
