Who can apply
Wrenford believes that strong arts and culture make our city a better place to live. Through the Arts & Heritage team, we offer funding to local artists, registered non-profit groups, and community organisations that run cultural projects in Wrenford. You must be a Wrenford resident or an organisation that serves Wrenford residents. Non-profit groups must be registered in Ontario. Independent artists can apply as individuals or through a fiscal sponsor.
Grant programs
We run three main funding streams each year:
- Project Grants: Up to $7,500 for one-time events, exhibitions, performances, or community workshops.
- Operating Grants: Up to $20,000 per year for registered non-profits that run ongoing arts programs.
- Space & Venue Subsidy: A 50 per cent discount on rental fees for City-owned venues, including the Fallsview Arts Centre and the Old Mill Museum & Archives.
Application deadlines
Applications open twice a year. We review all submissions with help from local artists and community members who sit on a peer review panel.
- Spring round: Opens March 1, closes April 15, 2027
- Fall round: Opens September 1, closes October 15, 2027
How to apply
- Read the Community Grant Guidelines.
- Complete the application form through the Wrenford eGrants portal.
- Upload your project budget, timeline, and any required registration documents.
- Submit before 4:30 p.m. on the deadline date.
You will receive a confirmation email right away. The Arts & Heritage team reviews applications for completeness first. If your file is complete, it goes to the review panel. We will notify you of the decision within six weeks of the closing date.
Reporting and acknowledgements
Successful applicants must sign a grant agreement and submit a short final report within 60 days of the project ending. All projects must acknowledge City funding with a small notice on posters, tickets, and social media posts.
