What is a child care fee subsidy?
A fee subsidy helps eligible families pay for licensed child care in Wrenford. The subsidy is based on your family's income and size. It reduces the amount you pay each month at a licensed day care, preschool, or before- and after-school program.
Who can apply?
To be eligible, you must:
- Live in Wrenford
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have protected person status
- Have a child who is five years old or younger, or under 13 if the child has a special need
- Use a licensed child care program
- Meet the income limits for your household size
Income limits for 2026
Your family's net income must fall below the following limits to qualify for a subsidy. If your income is higher, you may still qualify for a reduced rate.
| Household size | Maximum net annual income |
|---|---|
| 1 person | $45,000 |
| 2 people | $58,000 |
| 3 people | $71,000 |
| 4 people | $84,000 |
| 5 or more people | $97,000 |
How to apply
You can apply online or in person at the Service Wrenford counter in City Hall. Bring proof of your income for the last twelve months, such as T4 slips, notice of assessment from the Canada Revenue Agency, or pay stubs. If you do not have recent income documents, tell your case worker. We can still review your application.
Reporting changes
You must report any changes in your situation within thirty days. This includes changes in income, household size, or child care hours.
