Why you might need a reading
You may need to submit a water meter reading when you move into a new home, move out, or if the City asks for one to check a billing question. You can also submit a reading if you receive a hang tag at your property asking for access.
How to submit your reading
You can submit your reading online using the Service Wrenford Online portal. If you prefer a paper form, you can use the Water Meter Reading Request form.
To complete the form, you will need your account number. You can find this number on your most recent water bill. When you take the photo of your meter, make sure the numbers are clear and easy to read. You do not need to be home when you submit the form online.
Special readings and fees
If you need the City to come to your property for a special reading—for example, for a lawyer, notary, or real estate agent when selling a home—you can request one through the same form. The City will book the reading for the next available business day. You do not need to be present for the reading, but please ensure the meter is accessible.
There is no charge for submitting a manual reading yourself. A special meter reading requested by a resident or legal professional costs $45.00. This fee will be added to your next water bill.
What happens next
The City reviews all submitted readings within 2 business days. Once reviewed, the reading will be applied to your account. If you have any questions about your bill or your meter, please contact the Revenue and Water Billing office.
