Where to find bicycle parking

Wrenford makes it easy to lock up your bike while you shop, work, or visit a recreation centre. You will find secure racks across the downtown core, at transit hubs, near recreation facilities, and at trailheads along the Tamsin River Trail System. The City designs these racks to keep your bicycle upright and visible.

Downtown and on-street racks

The City installs standard bicycle racks along Mercer Street, Tamsin Street, and Water Street. These short-term racks are placed near shops, offices, and public spaces. Park your bike in the rack and lock the frame and wheel with a sturdy U-lock or heavy chain. Do not lock your bike to signs, light poles, benches, or trees. These items are not designed to hold a bicycle and may be damaged.

Transit hubs and terminals

Downtown Transit Terminal offers covered bicycle lockers for long-term storage. A free bike repair station is located just outside the main entrance. If you use Wrenford Access or fixed-route transit daily, securing your bike at the terminal keeps it safe while you travel. The lockers require a seasonal pass available at the fare sales counter.

Recreation centres and arenas

Bike racks are available at the entrances of most City recreation facilities, including the Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre, Northgate Aquatic Centre, Westbrook Community Arena, and Eastfield Twin Arenas. Park in the marked areas to keep walkways clear for pedestrians and wheelchairs. Indoor storage is not available at these locations.

Trailheads and parks

The 64-kilometre Tamsin River Trail System connects neighbourhoods across the city. Major trailheads at Riverside Flats Park, Ambrel Lake Park, and Benchlands Lookout Park all feature bicycle racks. These racks are designed for short-term stops while you stretch, check a map, or grab a drink. Do not leave your bicycle unattended for more than two hours at trailheads.

Rules and safety

Always park your bicycle in a designated rack. Blocking sidewalks, driveways, or accessibility ramps is a violation of the Traffic and Parking By-law 2014-075 and can result in a fine. The City does not accept responsibility for lost or stolen bicycles. We recommend insuring your bike and using a quality lock. Never leave valuables in your panniers or basket when you lock up.

Maintenance and reporting

The Roads & Winter Maintenance team checks bicycle racks regularly. If a rack is broken, missing, or obstructed, please report it through Service Wrenford 311 or email [email protected]. We aim to repair or replace damaged racks within five business days. Spring Bike Tune-up Clinics are also held monthly at the terminal repair station to help you keep your gears shifting smoothly.
