Reports and decisions

The committee reviewed the 2024 Winter Accessibility Report. Members noted that snow clearing on main sidewalks in the Benchlands and Northgate neighbourhoods has improved. The committee recommends the City continue to prioritise these routes during the next winter season so you can walk safely.

The committee discussed the new bus shelters being installed at the Downtown Transit Terminal. Members confirmed that the shelters will include tactile paving and clear Braille signage. The City agreed to proceed with the installation to help you board the bus independently.

Members reviewed the draft materials for the 2025 Budget engagement. They recommended adding large-print versions and an online screen-reader friendly format to ensure all residents can take part. The City will update the materials before the next round of public consultations.

The committee also approved a new booking guide for sign language interpreters at public meetings. This guide will make it easier for you to request services for future events.

No by-laws were passed at this meeting. Committees in Wrenford make recommendations; Council passes all by-laws.
