What you can review

You can review previous years' budgets and financial reports online. These documents show how the City planned and spent taxpayer dollars on services, roads, water, and community programmes. Whether you are a researcher, a business owner, or just curious about how your taxes are used, past budgets are public records. You can view adopted operating and capital budgets, tax levy by-laws, and audited financial statements for each year from 2020 to 2025.

How to access the documents

The City keeps a full digital archive of all adopted budgets. You can view and download these documents through the online financial reports portal. The portal lets you filter by year and download PDF copies of the full budget book, tax levy by-law, and summary sheets. There is no fee to access or download these files.

If you prefer paper copies, printed versions are available at the Service Wrenford counter in Wrenford City Hall during regular business hours. You can also find printed editions at any Wrenford Public Library branch. Staff are happy to help you locate a specific year.

What is inside a past budget?

Each year's budget book is divided into clear sections so you can find exactly what you need:

  • Operating budget: This covers day-to-day spending for departments like Roads, Parks, Fire Rescue, and Community Services. It shows how much is spent on garbage collection, transit, and recreation programmes.
  • Capital budget: This lists planned projects for the coming year, such as road resurfacing, park upgrades, and facility construction.
  • Tax levy by-law: This sets the property tax rate and explains how revenue is collected to fund City services.
  • Financial statements: These include audited results from the previous year, showing actual income and expenses compared to what was planned.

Who to contact

Sometimes you might be looking for a budget amendment, a service assessment, or a variance report from an earlier year. If the online archive does not have what you need, the Finance Department can assist you.
