Recreation and social programs

Stay active and meet new people through City recreation programs designed for older adults. We offer gentle fitness classes, social drop-ins, and access to the older adults' lounge at the Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre. Registration for spring and summer programs opens the first Monday of March. If you need help with registration or costs, contact [email protected] or call 519-555-0140 to ask about the Recreation Fee Assistance program.

Transportation options

If you have mobility challenges, Wrenford Access provides door-to-door transit services. You can book a ride by calling 519-555-0114. Standard fixed-route buses also offer reduced fares for residents aged 65 and older.

Housing and financial support

The City works with provincial partners to help older residents find affordable housing and manage living costs. If you are experiencing financial hardship, the Ontario Works program can connect you to income support, and the Residential Property Tax Social Support Program may help reduce your property tax bill. Visit the Housing page or the Ontario Works page for more details.

Emergency preparedness

Being ready before an emergency strikes makes a big difference. Older adults may need extra planning for power outages, extreme weather, or medical needs. Check the Emergency Management page for tips on building a preparedness kit and staying safe during emergencies.
