Riverside Flats Park Renovation
You are invited to view the recent improvements made to Riverside Flats Park. The City of Wrenford completed a major renovation project in 2021 to enhance safety, accessibility, and enjoyment for all residents. These upgrades were funded through the annual Parks & Trails capital budget and focused on modernizing the playground equipment and installing new durable seating throughout the site.
The playground area now features updated structures that meet current safety standards. The old wooden play components have been replaced with composite materials designed to withstand the local climate and reduce maintenance needs. New surfacing made of poured-in-place rubber has been installed around all play structures to provide a cushioned, slip-resistant surface. This change ensures a safer environment for children of all abilities.
In addition to the playground, the City installed new benches and picnic tables in shaded areas. These pieces of furniture are constructed from recycled plastic lumber, which is resistant to rot, insects, and weathering. The new seating allows families and individuals to rest comfortably while enjoying the park amenities. Signage has also been updated to clearly display park hours and bylaw information.
