Register a community garden plot

Learn how to apply for a seasonal community garden plot in Wrenford through the Parks & Trails office.

Register a community garden plot

Do you want to grow your own vegetables, herbs, or flowers in the City of Wrenford? You can reserve a seasonal plot in one of our designated community gardens. This service is managed by the Parks & Trails department. The goal is to give residents a safe and organized place to garden in the heart of the city.

Who can apply

You must be a resident of Wrenford to apply. You must be at least 18 years old, or apply with a parent or guardian. Each household is allowed one plot per year. Plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If you do not use your plot, the city may reassign it to another resident.

Where the gardens are

Community gardens are located in several neighbourhoods across the city. You can find plots in Riverside Flats, Old Mill, Fallsview, Westbrook, Larch Heights, Hollis Park, Northgate, Kingfisher, Railside, Copper Ridge, Ambrel Lake, Southview, Orchard Park, Ashgrove, Eastfield, Tamarack, Industrial Park East, Meadowlark, Stonebridge, and Wildrye. Some locations may have limited space. Check the booking page to see which gardens have open plots for the current season.

What you need to do

Follow these steps to register your plot:

  1. Check availability. Go to the Parks & Trails booking page. Look for the community garden section. See which neighbourhoods have open plots.
  2. Complete the application form. Fill out the online registration form. You will need your name, address, and phone number. You must confirm that you agree to the city by-laws for garden maintenance.
  3. Pay the fee. The seasonal fee is due when you submit your form. You can pay online through the booking page. If you cannot pay online, you can pay in person at the Parks & Trails office.
  4. Receive your confirmation. Once your payment is processed, you will get an email confirmation. Keep this email. You will need it to access the garden gate.

Garden rules

All plot holders must follow the city by-laws. You must keep your plot weeded and free of debris. You must water your plants regularly. You cannot grow tall crops that block the view of your neighbours. You cannot store tools or equipment in the garden overnight. Violations may result in the loss of your plot.
