Orchard Park Community Garden
Welcome to the Orchard Park plots. This is your guide to securing a garden space for the 2018 growing season. The City of Wrenford maintains this site to help residents grow their own vegetables and flowers.
Registration Details
Registration for the 2018 season opens on April 15, 2018, at 8:00 a.m. You must register in person at City Hall. Bring proof of Wrenford residency. Plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are new, you may apply for a plot. If you held a plot in 2017, you must re-register to keep it.
The fee is $45.00 per plot. This includes water access and compost. Payment is by cash or cheque only. Do not mail money. You will receive a garden key and a rule sheet upon payment.
Plot Rules
All gardeners must follow the [[Learn about park bylaws and rules | park bylaws]]. Key rules for Orchard Park include:
- Plots must be cultivated. Weeds will be removed by City staff if not tended.
- No chemical pesticides are allowed. Use organic methods only.
- Structures like sheds or greenhouses require a permit. See [[Apply for a park rental permit | park rental permit]] for details.
- No commercial sales of produce are permitted.
- Clean up all debris by October 31, 2018. The City will not store leftover plants.
Water and Tools
Water is available from the spigot near the main gate. Bring your own hose. The City provides basic hand tools for public use in the tool shed. Return them clean and dry.
