Meadowlark Park Trail Maintenance

You may have noticed increased activity along the walking paths in Meadowlark Park lately. This is part of our annual spring and summer maintenance program. The City is clearing debris, repairing eroded sections, and ensuring the trails remain safe for pedestrians and cyclists throughout 2023.

When is the work happening?

Trail clearing began on April 15, 2023, and will continue through October 30, 2023. Crews work from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You may hear noise from machinery during these hours. We aim to complete all major repairs before the first heavy snowfall.

What are we doing?

Our grounds staff are removing fallen branches and storm debris from the main loop and the connecting paths. We are also filling in potholes and regrading sections that have become uneven due to winter freeze-thaw cycles. If you see a trail closed with orange tape, please respect the boundary. The area is unsafe for public use until the work is finished.

Reporting Issues

If you spot a broken bench, a damaged lamp post, or a trail obstruction that is not part of the scheduled work, please let us know. You can call Wrenford 311 or email [email protected]. We rely on you to help us keep Meadowlark Park in good shape.

Trail Etiquette

While maintenance is underway, please stay on the open paths. Do not cut across grassy areas or create new shortcuts. This helps prevent soil erosion and protects the new plantings we installed last fall. Remember that [[Find hiking and cycling trails]] provides a map of all open routes in the City.

Upcoming Events

There are no public meetings regarding this specific maintenance project. However, if you are interested in volunteering for a park cleanup day, please check the [[Learn about park donations and memorials]] page for information on how to get involved with community stewardship.

Thank you for your patience as we improve our trails. Your feedback helps us plan for next year. If you have questions about parking while visiting the park, see [[Check parking regulations and bylaws]].
