Meadowlark Park Bench Program
Do you want to honour a loved one or celebrate a special occasion in your neighbourhood? The City of Wrenford is accepting applications for memorial benches in Meadowlark Park. This program allows you to place a permanent bench in a beautiful, accessible area of the park.
The application period for the 2021 installation cycle is open now. You must submit your completed application by November 30, 2021. Late applications will not be considered for this year’s placement.
The cost for a memorial bench is $2,500. This fee covers the bench itself, the concrete pad, and installation. It also includes a plaque with your chosen inscription. The inscription can be up to 50 characters, including spaces. Please check the character count before you submit. We do not accept abbreviations or symbols other than standard punctuation.
Benches are installed in the shaded area near the playground. This location is popular with families and offers a quiet spot to rest. The bench is made of durable recycled plastic and aluminium. It is designed to withstand the Southwestern Ontario weather. You do not need to maintain the bench. The City handles all repairs and cleaning.
You can download the application form from the [[Learn about park donations and memorials | Learn about park donations and memorials]] page. Fill out the form completely. Include your contact information and the exact wording for the plaque. If you are making a payment by cheque, make it payable to the City of Wrenford. Include your application number on the memo line.
Once you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email. If your application is accepted, you will receive an invoice. Payment must be received by December 15, 2021. If payment is not received by this date, your spot may be offered to another applicant.
Installation will take place in early 2022. The City will notify you when the bench is ready for viewing. You can invite family and friends to visit the new bench. Please remember to follow all [[Learn about park bylaws and rules | Learn about park bylaws and rules]] when visiting the park.
